The APC North-East Youth Vanguard has thrown its full weight behind Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, urging his renomination as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s national convention.
In a strongly worded press statement issued on Tuesday, the group described Prof. Yilwatda as a leader with a proven track record of exemplary leadership, party loyalty and the ability to foster unity across diverse groups within the APC.
The endorsement was signed by Engr. Ahmed Muhammed, Chairman of the APC North-East Youth Vanguard.
The endorsement highlighted his role in steering the party towards greater cohesion, renewed hope and strategic progress in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,they added.
“Since assuming office, he has demonstrated exceptional capability in building internal harmony and advancing the party’s goals,” the statement said.
The youth group praised Prof. Yilwatda’s journey from grassroots mobilisation to national prominence, noting his contributions to successful local government elections and multiple by-election victories for the APC.
His strategic acumen, organisational skills and capacity to mobilise support at all levels were singled out as key strengths.
Particular emphasis was placed on his consistent engagement with the youth constituency.
“Prof. Yilwatda has always rallied young people, giving them a genuine sense of belonging, platforms for participation, and meaningful opportunities to contribute to the party’s growth and national development,” the statement added.
The group said his inclusive approach has bridged generational gaps, energised the party base and strengthened the APC’s foundation for future successes.
The North-East youths called on all APC members, supporters and stakeholders especially the youth across the North-East and the entire nation to rally solidly behind Prof. Yilwatda.
They described his leadership as essential for the party’s continued success, internal harmony and effective service to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections and beyond.
“The APC North-East Youth Vanguard remains committed to supporting Prof. Yilwatda and the party’s leadership in building a stronger, more united APC that delivers prosperity and good governance for all,” the statement concluded.
