Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, Chairman of the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, has strongly condemned the killing of eight persons in a fresh gunmen attack on Mbwelle village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack occurred late Thursday night when terrorists stormed the community around 11pm, opening indiscriminate fire that lasted nearly an hour. Most of the victims were members of the same family.
In a statement made available to newsmen , Zazzaga described the incident as a disturbing act that has had a profound impact on residents and heightened anxiety over collective security, family well-being, and the future of the state.
“The disturbing incident of genocide witnessed yesterday in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State has had a profound impact on me, and the fear of its recurrence is heightening anxiety about our collective security, family well-being, and the future of our State,” Zazzaga said.
He expressed concern that the security situation in the state is being downplayed by some quarters, stressing that he totally condemns and is against the killings of innocent souls in Plateau State and parts of Nigeria.
Zazzaga urged security agencies to intensify efforts and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay, warning that such barbaric acts must not be allowed to continue.
The latest assault has left three others injured, while some residents are still missing, according to community sources.
