2027: Bawa Donates ₦10m to OK Movement, Unveils People-Centred Agenda in Edo North

Chief Muhammed Bawa, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Etsako Federal Constituency, has donated ₦10 million to support the grassroots operations of the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement in Edo North ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bawa announced the donation on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at a town hall meeting organised by the movement in Waterboard, Auchi, where he also unveiled his proposed legislative agenda centred on social, economic and political integration.

The NDC candidate said his legislative ambition was driven by the need to give constituents a greater role in determining the direction of development in the constituency.

According to him, “Gone are the days when power resides in the hands of a few individuals. The people must now dictate the pace of their own development.”

Bawa outlined his “Triple Integration Agenda”, which he said would focus on social, economic and political integration.

He explained that the framework was designed to promote unity among communities, stimulate local wealth creation and ensure that ordinary citizens have a meaningful voice in policymaking.

The candidate said the agenda would guide his approach to representation if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.

Earlier, the South-South Coordinator of the OK Movement, Ambassador Chris Ighodaro, said the group had established grassroots structures across the region and was prepared to mobilise support for NDC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Ighodaro said the movement was ready to work with party flagbearers and declared its intention to support all NDC candidates in Edo North “from top to bottom.”

He urged the candidates to collaborate with the movement, assuring them that electoral structures and mobilisation mechanisms were already in place ahead of the elections.
