The Federal High Court has fixed November 4, 2026, for the continuation of hearing in a suit filed by Jude Dakur, an aspirant in the African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship primary in Plateau State, over the omission of his name from the list of candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Dakur, who contested the ADC governorship primary some months ago and claimed to have won the exercise, is challenging the non-inclusion of his name in the list of 2027 governorship candidates submitted to INEC.
The suit followed the alleged omission of his name from the list of 28 governorship candidates submitted by the party to the electoral commission.
Dakur is asking the court to address the dispute surrounding the party’s submission and the publication of the candidates’ list by INEC.
The matter was adjourned until November 4 for continuation of hearing.
Dakur urged his supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, and cautioned them against embarking on public campaigns pending the determination of the case by the court.
“We are law-abiding people, and we urge our supporters to avoid public campaigns for now, as such actions could prejudice the matter before the court,” he added.
