Man Opens Fire on Children at Wedding Ceremony

The Kebbi State Police Command has apprehended Muhammad Sani, known as Kado, for allegedly opening fire on two children during a wedding ceremony in the Koko/Besse Local Government Area of the state.

The victims, Alā€™amin Garba, aged 9, and Bello Shehu, aged 7, were shot at the event in Unguwar Magaji. Alā€™amin Garba succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, while Bello Shehu suffered serious injuries to his ribs and was hospitalized in Koko.

Upon receiving the report, officers from the Besse Divisional Police Headquarters swiftly responded, arresting the suspect and recovering the firearm used in the attack.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani, condemned the incident and urged the public to surrender any firearms in their possession to the police to enhance community safety.

He also ordered an expedited investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
