Just in: Gov Udom receives Peter Obi in Uyo

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has met with the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, in Governor’s Lodge, Uyo.

The meeting, according to our government source, took place on Monday evening behind close door.

Obi is currently consulting a wide range of stakeholders across the country regarding his ambition. His current rating on public opinion poll is quite high. He is enjoying positive reviews from former presidents, governors, opinion leaders across the country and has a strong support based on social media.

According to our source, the LP presidential candidate arrived the Government House security post around 6:45pm in a convoy of three black sports utility vehicles and was driven straight to the Lodge.

“The press corps were not allowed to take pictures. Many of us only knew he (Obi) came after he had left.” Our source revealed.

There has been no statement from government press about the visit and chief press secretary to the governor, Mr. Ekerete Udo, has not made comments.

Governor Emmanuel appears to have a strained relationship with his party since his unsuccessful outing at presidential primary and subsequent replacement of his name as the running mate to the presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

He was obviously absent from the PDP delegation that visited Osun state to drum support for Senator Ademola Adeleke.
