ABUJA — The NNPC Foundation, in partnership with the Oloibiri Oil & Gas Entrepreneurship Development Initiative, on Tuesday hosted the 2025 Youth Energy STEAM Festival (YES-FEST), bringing together secondary school students from across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to foster innovation in Nigeria’s energy sector.
The event, themed “Fueling Future Energies Through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education,” aimed to equip young Nigerians with the knowledge and skills needed to drive the nation’s transition to a sustainable energy future.
Speaking at the festival, the NNPC Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and renewable energy advocacy, stressing that a clean and inclusive energy transition requires collaboration, innovation, and collective action.
The one-day program featured interactive workshops, exhibitions, and mentorship sessions designed to inspire students to explore careers in renewable energy, climate technology, and sustainable development.
Organizers say YES-FEST is part of a broader initiative to bridge the gap between education and industry, preparing Nigeria’s youth to lead in the global shift toward green energy solutions.
