The Campaign for Democracy (CD) has commended President Bola Tinubu for the reappointment of Dr. Ahmed Audi as Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for a fresh term of five years, describing the decision as a bold step toward consolidating security sector reforms in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a press release issued on Monday and signed by the General Secretary, Comrade Olufemi Lawson, the CD said the reappointment reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to continuity, performance, and institutional strengthening, particularly in critical security agencies tasked with safeguarding national assets and protecting citizens.
According to Lawson, Dr. Audi’s first tenure as Commandant-General was marked by significant operational reforms, improved personnel welfare, and enhanced protection of critical national infrastructure across the country. The group noted that under his leadership, the NSCDC intensified its crackdown on oil theft, pipeline vandalism, illegal mining activities, and other economic sabotage, thereby contributing to improved national revenue protection.

These efforts, the group said, repositioned the Corps as a proactive and technologically responsive security agency capable of complementing other security services in tackling emerging threats.
