Edo election: “You failed as governor, lack moral authority to recommend for our people” – Etsako Youths blasts Oshiomhole

The Etsako Youth Movement has declared that Adams Oshiomhole, the former Governor of Edo, lacks the moral authority to recommend Senator Monday Okpebholo as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the state.

According to the group, the Oshiomhole’s tenure as governor was marked by failures that disqualify him from having any say in the future leadership of Edo.

In a statement signed by Johnson Umoru, convener of the movement, the group said, ”the shortcomings of Oshiomhole’s administration include neglected infrastructure, inadequate improvements in education and healthcare, and alleged corruption.”

The group argued that these failures have significantly undermined public trust in his judgment.

Part of the statement read: “Oshiomhole’s endorsement of Okpebholo is not only an affront to the people of Edo but also a misguided attempt to influence the political process.

“It is unacceptable that someone with such a problematic legacy is trying to shape our state’s future.

“Oshiomhole’s failed governance disqualifies him from recommending any candidate for Edo State.

“We call for a reexamination of leadership choices and urge Edolites to focus on leaders who are genuinely committed to addressing the needs of Edo’s residents.

“The public should critically evaluate the motivations behind Oshiomhole’s endorsement of Okpebholo, it is none other than for selfish purposes and will truncate effective governance in this state.”
